I've found a number of manufacturers who make Aztecs and sometimes Incas in various scales (Pendraken in 10mm; Irregular in 6mm and 15mm). But I have found no matching Spanish conquistadores to pit against them.

Irregular suggests using some figures from its Renaissance Italian Wars range in 6mm, but even there, they do produce a Spanish heavy cavalry figure in their Conquest of Mexico line because it is too unique to be used elsewhere. There just doesn't seem to be much of anything here.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried Naismith and Roundway? Tin Soldier also do both Aztec's and Conquistadores, they're very exaggerated but the Aztecs in particular look like something from a codex – really dramatic (they do have photos on their web shop).

The above were all 15mm, although some of those also do 25mm. For 10mm Obelisk Miniatures do some delightful conquistadores. But only Incas to fight them.

Is Obelisk still in business, I'd love to order some.

Excellent suggestions, BillyNM! Thanks!

I had already discovered Obelisk, but all their figures show as Currently Unavailable and their website looks like it hasn't been updated in years. Perhaps out of business?

I have the 35+ year old 15mm Minifigs Spanish. They're pretty good…

BillyNM23 May 2020 11:11 p.m. PST

Sorry, never used Obelisk, had a look and it does seem pretty defunct. Perhaps try a post with that as a title, someone might know more.

I thought Obelisk went under. Badger Games ended up with some of their 25mm ranges.

I had asked Badger and they informed me they didn't take over the 10mm range. I believe I tried to email Josef Ochman (who sculpted them) and got no response. A mystery it will remain.

Hello Silver Fox

In 10mm the Obelisk figures were large 12mm and they are seriously defunct, been trying for years to track them down.

As for Pendraken figures for Spanish Conquistadors in 10mm, you'd have to cherry pick proxies from the Early 16th C. English/Scots link and the Elizabethan 1560-1610 link

I have a set of 15mm Aztecs I can give you for the shipping cost along side some Swiss miniatures. They were for a project that I am going to have to let go of. I also have 16th Century Koreans all from Essex if you want them.
