If you quit Warhammer, what game would you play instead? |

I have quit Warhammer. I play a range of games, too many to list. Favorites are TSATF, Disposable Heroes, Chain of Command. |

Kings of War. Plenty of troop types and armies. I like that those minis I lovingly painted stay on the table until the unit it removed (no more constant removing figures). Magic is not over-powering. |

Age of Fantasy from One Page Rules. Cleaner, faster, and free! |

I quit Warhammer years ago, and have only dabbled in fantasy big battles since, but now I am seriously interested in the upcoming Oathmark by Joseph McCullough (Frostgrave) after reading advanced reviews. |

I moved to ShockForce then Two Hour Wargames, with a lot of collecting and reading free rule sets. |

Which Warhammer did you quit one of the older editions, 9th age or AoS? What's your reason for quitting? Do you still want to use your old armies? If we know what you like and don't like about Warhammer it might help us make a more informed rules suggestion. |

Shadow Storm, an adaptation of Hail Caesar, Tally Ho! |

My biggest gripe with Warhammer RAW is individual figure removal. As stated above, I want the minis on the table as long as possible Kings of War is a decent option, basically just use your 20-figure WHFB units. The problem is that KoW has little flavor or depth compared to all the various tweaks and rules in WHFB. |

I quit Warhammer 40K in '93 then I played Body Count with 1/72 ESCI US paratroopers and Wermacht based on 1c coins pretty much solo. Then tried to get grilfriends. Then after my adventures in Nippon, trials and tribulations I took up wargaming again in circa 2010 with Force on Force, then I played TSATF in the Australian bush with 1/6 dudes. Now I'm trying to build a 20mm world for Battlegroup Cold War mod..and some FNG for skirmish.. still can't get a grilfrieeend….don't care anyway, got a whole world o 20mm bad asses that prolly get all the female tail they can handle! OOORAHHHH! |

You could use your old 28mm figures and use the Warmaster rules up scaled. Rules are easy. Just make your own bases. Up to you how many figs go on a base. |

I bought 1st edition when it came out, thinking it was an RPG because White Dwarf tried to sell it as one. Never played it. When I got into miniature gaming in 2000, I went with Warmaster and have enjoyed it for 20 years in all its fantasy and historical forms. For fantasy, I play Warmaster Revolution. It's free to boot! The system works great since I have to do miniature gaming solo. I can't convince my board game and Magic the Gathering friends to play miniature games. |

I second Nickinsomerset Shadow Storm, but then again I like Hail Caesar for ancient battles |

Which Warhammer did you quit one of the older editions Well when did it start going downhill? Right at the end of 5th Edition so that would be around 20+ years ago. Oh and yes that is how long my armies have been sitting in their cases and I have several armies. Sad since it once was a decent game but then GW destroyed it and finally killed it off to create that horrible AoS game. |

I would design my own game. Then i'd only have myself to blame if i didn't like how it worked. This game would use cards to model friction and provide skill based interest via resource expenditure. You build a hand and expend cards from it to do stuff with units in a turn. The cards will have a set of values on them and most offer different options. Schtick points being one. Each race would be able to spend schtick points on stuff specific to their army. |

If you've got the armies just play the edition of Warhammer that you like. It's pretty liberating now that it's been killed off. I've been able to bring back 4th edition units that sat on the shelf for decades. |

Looking forward to Oathmark will be getting the rules soon. |
