Studio Tomahawk had the bad luck to release the 2nd edition of M&T just as the pandemic got going. I'm a great fan of the original version, and was wondering if anyone out there has played the new version yet. If so, what's your take on them? Are they an improvement? More complex? |

Yes, we've played them. I think it is an improvement on v1. The command points really add an extra layer of decision making, and the new cards system is good, too. Use of d10 helps with granularity of odds available in the old system. Melee has been greatly improved; the only weak area of the old system. |

This is good to hear. How do the command points work? |

you can find a few youtube vids of people playing the new version. I have the rules but have yet to play them (damn pandemic). -the only rule that made me raise an eyebrow was that when a unit recovered from 'flight' it can NEVER make another movement action. seems strange to me. command points work by: you have a pool of CP that grows slowly. on your turn instead of playing a card to activate a unit you can spend X command points for Y ability / action.

"-the only rule that made me raise an eyebrow was that when a unit recovered from 'flight' it can NEVER make another movement action." Surely that's a typo in the rules? |

"-the only rule that made me raise an eyebrow was that when a unit recovered from 'flight' it can NEVER make another movement action." Reads like – if they rally they can not move but only change facing during the card they rally on. Next card they can perform any action. |

It's certainly a strange way of putting it. I think I'll go with Cam's interpretation. That makes more sense. 😀 |
