Does anyone know where to find orders of battle for battles of the Russo Japanese war? I am looking to find actual units involved in battles, with commanding officer names. I have lots of books on he subject, but none give the actual lists of which units were involved in each battle (only mentions of some of the units haphazardly). I found some OOBs on WargameVault, but they are very general, and intended for small unit miniature games, not actual listings of specific divisions, regiments and battalions in each battle. Does anyone have links to info or books I can check?

You should try to find the Official Histories by the European and American Military Observers. There are a ton of them available to download on archive.org.

Like "Reports of military observers attached to the armies in Manchuria during the Russo-Japanese War" for the US observers.

The German ones are outstanding too.

Vol. I. THE YA-LU.
With nine Appendices and six Maps.
Vol. II. WA-FAN-GOU, and actions preliminary to LIAO-YAN.
With four Appendices and eleven Maps.
Vol. III. THE BATTLE OF LIAOYAN.
With ten Appendices and ten Maps
Russo-Japanese War THE BATTLE ON THE SCHA-HO

Etc
