So I ordered some 10mm ACW figures in an attempt to do ACW(attempt nr 50)
I have a few proper books. But are there anyone on audible to recommend?
Particularly western theater?

I'd recommend the ACW series by Bernard Cornwell

Copperhead
Battle Flag and
the Bloody Ground

Tony

Shelby foote's 3 volume set on the civil war or Bruce catton's 3 volume set on the civil war.

Foote and Catton are really good. Foote will keep you going forever while painting.

" The Killer Angels" should be available on audible.

Are the jeff shaara books any good? Is the gods and generals book better than the movie?
What about his newer book on the western theater.

I personally don't like Jeff shaara.

For historical fiction, I'll recommend the books by Ralph Peters. More focused on the eastern theater but so is most stuff.

The Grant biography by Chernow is very good.

And you can probably find books on specific western battles. The one by Foote on Shiloh however is not that great.

Anything by Stephen Sears is great as well. I really enjoyed the Antietam and Chancerville books.

+1 for anything by Sears
