15mm and 28mm Fanatik | 12 May 2020 4:05 p.m. PST |
Good 4 U, Granny Grater. At 6mm they should pass the eye test if you don't look to closely (though quite a few stick figures resemble crosses in cemeteries) but they won't pass muster for the larger scales of my preference. I like this comment someone wrote re the LOTR Isengard army BTW: As an avid 6mm enthousiast I resent the notion that the scale has so little detail that figures can be replaced by little sticks. As someone who loves scratch building stuff I have to say: "That is friggin' awesome!" |

Rather ingeniuos, though I do think most 6mm troops are cheap enough. |

Cheers Fanatik! @Covert – yes they are, the Onslaught and Vanguard stuff is very reasonable for the quality you get.. but I am seriously skint, the furlough scheme is a hell of a lot better than nothing but it hasn't left me much of a hobby budget :-/ |

God I admire you OP! They look pretty convincing at typical viewing distances. Ironically the last I've ordered was some more Onslaught and Vanguard stuff, whilst I'm working on painting my Spess Marines. |

I remember those hair-roller armies. Tried making them didn't care for them and took the train to Seven Kings and bought some proper 6mm from Navwar. |

A very impressionist take on wargaming. Just awesome. |

@ROU that's amazing, so that's where it came from? Love it, thanks for sharing. Yeah, Legion… I thought you might say that ;-) Cheers @newarch- I'd be all over that stuff if I had the cash mate, enjoy :-) @Stoppage – yeah, I can see that, maybe a little too DIY even for us! @Slow Oats thanks mate! Got more coming :-) |

You have made me stop what I was doing with this lot. I used to play Napolionics with 1/4" Screws. This is so much better! Thanks, real wargaing, more playing than paintaing. Shame its a bit to small for 1/144. |

I feel the consumption of the box may be necessary prior to attempting such lunacy. Perhaps a pea nut or bean could be used…for the cockpit? If your using the plastic mesh for the figures, one could only guess what your using for fencing/blockades on the terrain side. I'm now looking at a lufa and thinking Tyranids. What have you done! PS I did make an epic Tyranid engine from a sea shell with a milliputt tube-thing sticking up many years ago, so I can't blame you entirely. |
