With the lockdown on and finding myself having to shield for health reasons I decided one last time to retrieve some old pictures from a very old steam powered laptop. It literally creaks and groans as it strains to keep going lol

I came across these imaged of a display game of the Battle of Solechon 586 CE, fought between the Byzantines and the Sassanid Empires respectively at Claymore way back in 2008!

It would be too much of a strain on my memory to recall the details of the game, who won that sort of thing but the pictures are quite nice so I thought I'd pop a few up here.

More can be seen on my Blog: link

Cheers

You wouldn't remember the results because you and all the others disappeared and left me and Brian Phillips to run the game. 🤓

If I had been there it would have been a pleasure to run that game. Was it WAB back then?

Hi Olivero. Yes, it was WAB all the way for Ancients and Medieval stuff back then. We used to play at the club pretty much every week.

I'm actually in the process of trying to organise a ye olde WAB Campaign day/weekend as a kind of nostalgic post Covid 19 celebration. No idea when it will take place but I'm thinking that Nottingham is nice and central in the UK.

If you're interested….. :)
