I've taken the time to build graphic files with a vectorial drawing software (the freeware Inkscape) in order to print crests for uma jirushi, nobori and sashimono on water transfer special media sheets (letter size). They fit 15mm scale and the number of miniatures I plan to have for each clans of the Takeda forces. The following are screen captures of the first two such "pages". A third coming soon will be the last for the Takeda clan.

First page

Second page

For those interrested, I could share the .svg files (svg stands for scalable vector graphics). That will allow you to edit the files, for instance to resize for use on 25/28mm miniatures. Just let me know here.

Disclaimer: I'm not a graphic designer, so logos aren't built with vectors. Resizing them to make them bigger might not produce a neet result.

Some crests might be puzzling for you. Here are a few hints: red ring is for Atobe clan (I remember reading that piece of information in a text that I felt could be trusted though I no longer remember what text it was); the Minamoto mon in a circle seems to have been Kiso's; I chose to use Tada Mitsuyori, Hajikano Masatsugu and a third imaginary leader as ashigaru taisho so only their personnal sashimonos are displayed on page 1 (the 3rd gets the "strong" kanji characters next to Hajikano's); on page 2, Sanada Nobutsuna has uma jirushi and personal sashimono while Masayuki has uma jirushi and a nobori (ladder); both have no troops wearing their colors… rather their father's; Takeda mon in red and blue will be used for other family members unless I finally find out what were the banners of Katsurayama, Mochizuki, Morozumi, Nishina, Takeda Nobuzane, Takeda Zaemon…

Here's the third page.

I chose to use the vertical line version of the Amari banners (as seen on reenactement pictures). The skull sashimono is the personal one of Oyamada Bitchu no Kami Masatatsu. The red pattern on beige is also attributed to Oyamada Masatatsu. The yellow on red pattern is from a Baba of Shinano (a vassal of Kiso that I'll use as a unit commander). The 9 dots on three rows is the mon of Hoshina Masatoshi. Finally, the mon showing a crane under a "shelter" seem to be Katsurayama's.

These are really great! I would love to use these!

As long as you make no commercial use of them, it's a pleasure. :-)

Here are a few tests I ran today. I'm quite happy with the result. Both Takeda Nobushige and Obu Toramasa mon transfers were placed directly on white primed surfaces with the surroundings painted afterwards. The mon on the yellow sashimonos is a creation based on the mon of a kabuki actor from the Edo period. I picked it to embody the Kurihara clan in the Takeda army.

The tests now have found their permanent sockets. ;-) Three ashigarus in the foreground will get their sashimonos too very soon.

A little update.

After some more research, I've edited the first page adding hana-bishi mons (the floral version of the takeda mon) both for the Kai based Oi clan (white on red in a circle) and another minor clan tbd (Komai?) in black. I've also added more of the standard mon (hara-bishi) in black and in white on red to be used for Shingen's personal troops (black on red and white on red).

The editable file is available there:
