One of my mates has decided to game the great Emu War of 1932! A few miniatures and some terrain building later and we were set to battle the birds!

With relaxed Covid19 restrictions we had a play test!

BTW do a search on Google for Emu Wars if you want details on how the Australian Army took on some flightless birds and lost 🤪…

Absolutely no idea what this is about, but it looks like a bad day for the Emu's, however can I just say that board looks absolutely stunning!!

Any psychologist could tell you this is the inevitable consequence of prolonged mass confinement.

That's a very nice table. I presume the bonza scene-setting eucalypts are from the Murray Bridge blokes.

The emus have the edge already: they'll laugh themslves silly at those bare legs*. British army practice and Aussie Gallipoli improvisations notwithstanding, shorts generally remained pre-adult wear globally – including in the Australian summer – until after WW2. The humiliation really should be a negative morale modifier for the humans.

*Hypocritical, I know.

Looking good

I included an emu war army option in with my massed battle fantasy rules – I figured if they could operate against Europeans they could also fight dream-time Aborigines and extinct megafauna.

Never underestimate the morale effect of the "Imperial knee",,,, ;-)

Henry Martini16 May 2020 5:21 p.m. PST

… and like surgery on the imperial knee, this 'campaign' was a 'joint' operation.
