I have some Plastic Perry Crossbow men from the french infanty set that have Pavise ( Pavises?) They are narrow at one end and a bit broader at the other. Which end is the top ? I've seen various pictures of both, some even in the same unit are mixed ? I'd have thought narrow end into the ground? But did it just depend which way the strap was fitted ?

Secondly I dont suppose anyone has a template on a computer document that will fit the pavise, I can edit it for my own pattern, but getting the actual shape and size right in the first place is a bit hard.(I'm too tight to buy decals and they seem the wrong shape anyway.)

I have always understood it to be narrow end down for HYW -- at least this is the way all of the transfers are designed.

The Little Big Men transfers (more properly stickers) are superb and easy to use by the way and will fit the Perry plastics although designed for Perry metals.

Dont worry about exact fit as even the LBM transfers are oversize and designed to be wrapped slightly at the edges and then painted in (at least ways I find this gives the best and most secure fit) -- a rough and ready look is what you are after anyway!

Thanks, I've done mine upside down then. :-(
JimDuncanUk, I had seen those links but there are others with wide end at the bottom.

I've stuck mine on the guys arms too, but I'm wondering if I should just glue to the base like it's spiked in the ground. If the LBM stickers are wrong sized then I can have a glue a printing my own. paper and pva glue works for banners, it should work for pavise, should have done it before gluing it on the guy of course…

So I think these turned out ok in the end. Sheilds done by prining an image on my computer and painting over them.
