Yes, yes, Borg cube. You've seen it before. I posted it before. But the WIP blog entry will illuminate the difference. Have my subtle cues shed light on what is going on with this one? |

Guy Mann-Dude has been assimilated into our playlists. I almost expected to see one side of the cube as a tic-tac-toe pattern. Good work all around! |

Could you have glued the el wires down, to get less slack? |
etotheipi | 09 May 2020 12:15 p.m. PST |
I could have and I still could. I am considering it. El wire is used a lot for automotive applications (pimp my ride), and normal industrial adhesives will work on it. The outer coat is a highly polar plastic that won't bond well with PVA (cow glue) or CA (super glue). The other thing I can do is to pinch the wires at the joints to make them lay flat. The plastic will deform and hold shape. While I have el wire projects that are over a decade old, I am irrationally concerned about it burning out and me having to entirely destroy a project to remove it. I'm much more comfortable with hidden copper wires. and rewiring that. |
