This is another game in play testing my new ancient rules by replaying historical battles. This one is the Battle of Cynopscephalae. I am play testing the rules by chronologically replaying all the Peter Sides scenarios from his Historical Battles books. I was using my own rules – Ancient Battlelines Clash (ABC) – for the previous games but am now using rules I recently wrote that are a re-interpretation and evolution of ABC that is all d3 based and play on a 16"x16" table rather than 2'x2'. I have a QRS and am writing the body of the rules so after a few more playtests I will publish the first draft to my blog. The battle report is here: link And here is a shot of each side advancing:
