Over the course of my ECW project I have started to see a number of errors in lists of ECW Regimental coat colours. So I decided to write my own. Here's part 1 which covers Parliamentarian Regiments of Foot (not including the NMA) link

Nicely done KYPD! I'd be glad to hear if you spot some coat colour errors in the BCW wiki or can suggest some additions.

Just to add to this, as far as we know the NMA all got red coats apart from the fire locks in orange tawny, but they were not necessarily all reclothed by Naseby.

Thanks Timbo – spotted one, and amended. Crawford's. Identified as one of two contenders for being "Manchester's blew coats" ar Marston Moor. The other contender Hobart's were referred to as the Norfolk redcoats four months earlier in Newark.

Very nice! I am looking forward to the Scots update!

Thanks.

Raynman – it won't be too scintillating a read 'hodden grey, probably hodden grey, hodden grey, hodden grey, assumed hodden grey' There are a couple of exceptions to 'hodden grey'. But you'll have to wait to find those out #nospoilers

@KYPD38

But which "Hodden Grey" is the right Hodden Grey?

@Steamingdave2

No spoilers! ;-)

Found a couple of references to some of the Cheshire regiments wearing grey coats, so they've been added to my lists (and yes, Timbo I've added them to the wiki too, tidied a few others up as well).

All prescribed coat colours in all my lists now have references.
