Are you less likely to play a zombie game during a global pandemic? Would it be bad form, bad taste, not the thing to do right now?

Norrins06 May 2020 1:26 a.m. PST

Zombie solo games are the only games I'm playing at the moment.

I think zombies vs vampires is the best game for a pandemic.

The board game Pandemic is also appropriate, of course.

advocate06 May 2020 2:36 a.m. PST

It's so far from our current pandemic as anything could be, so a resounding "No".
Besides, one of the most popular films just now, 'Contagion', is much closer to the bone; people are playing the 'Pandemic' boardgame and buying Corona beer. I don't have any problem with these, either. In fact I'm positively in favour.

I've been playing 7 Days to Die on the Xbox and taking notes.

Apparently I need to craft a stone axe!

Just as long as the zombies stay on the gaming table … who cares !?

I think it would be bad form to not play wargames now … we'll all be dead by Christmas anyway ! huh?

No zombie games, but I just played Z-Man Games' 'Pandemic' board game a couple of weeks ago.

cloudcaptain06 May 2020 7:42 a.m. PST

No but I haven't been able to get in the mood to play survival based games on my PC. Normally that's 90% of what I am into (Things like 7 days to Die as mentioned). They are hitting a bit close to home at the moment. Even Escape from Tarkov makes me feel a bit weird. Don't even get me started on Tom Clancy's : The Division…

More likely

Zombies? Sure. That's silly nonsense, not reality.

Not less likely.

I don't play zombie games very often. However, I do have several specific themed sets of them. So on those rare occasions, the zeds are well done.

Painting up zombies and survivors right.

JMcCarroll06 May 2020 10:24 a.m. PST

Zombie games are never "too soon".
Well maybe not when that guy consumed bath salts and eat his friends face. The cops didn't want to get any where close to him. Neither do I thinking about it.

Perhaps we should merge the Zombies board and the Ultra Modern board?

Col Durnford Supporting Member of TMP07 May 2020 6:12 a.m. PST

Zombies on the painting table and more on the way to add to the 100+ already table ready.

As a side note, I completed my CDC Quarantine Enforcement unit (9 figures and an APC) in April.

You cannot have too many zombies to spring on the PCs.

Part time gamer08 Jun 2020 5:58 p.m. PST

Its just a game. Epidemics, pandemic's.. look at mans history.

@JMcCarroll;
yea I'd be a lot more worried about someone who thinks:
"A nice big bowl of BATH SALTS to start the day out right."
