Doing anything in particular to celebrate?

rustymusket04 May 2020 4:14 p.m. PST

Not sure. Hopefully get takeout and takeout margueritas from our favorite Mexican restaurant. Just the wife and me, of course. I can give her a short seminar on what Cinco de Mayo was and then wake her for dinner.

Yeah, what day is it on?

cepammi04 May 2020 4:37 p.m. PST

Stay home and wash my hands.

Maybe we'll make a few tasty breakfast burritos here at home.

"I can give her a short seminar on what Cinco de Mayo was and then wake her for dinner." -- Made me laugh.

My understanding is that it is not a big deal in Mexico. It is more of a big deal in SoCal though.

It's only really celebrated in one state in Mexico… Here in the U.S. it's just another excuse to drink and eat to excess.

Might grab some authentic tacos from a local joint, but that's it. I've got a lot going on at work tomorrow.

Rudysnelson04 May 2020 6:55 p.m. PST

No, not a holiday to celebrate for me.

mikeda04 May 2020 8:03 p.m. PST

Nothing planned beyond my usual (yet rarely observed) advice to all--"Take a Mexican to lunch, and kick a Frenchman's … derriere!"

Mexicans fighting (and defeating) Frenchmen, Bleeped text all to do with me, I am painting Spanish American War instead.

PzGeneral05 May 2020 10:40 a.m. PST

I just had Taco Bell…..

mjkerner05 May 2020 6:29 p.m. PST

Probably have a Corona or two.

mghFond06 May 2020 9:21 a.m. PST

Highly debatable that Taco Bell is Mexican food.
