… Decide To Invade Taiwan?

"Regaining every inch of ground once ruled by imperial China is central to the dream President Xi Jinping exhorts Chinese to embrace. Miss an opportunity and China's dream might never come true. And where would that leave Chinese Communist rulers, who already face a sullen populace? Is now the time Beijing may decide to strike—thanks to COVID-19?

In 1918 the German Army unleashed a titanic series of spring offensives. Their goal: to crash through British and French lines in France before the United States could make its weight felt on the field of battle, putting victory forever out of reach. Things were as good for the Reich that spring as they were going to get. Germany had driven Russia out of the war the previous winter, freeing up troops from the East to swing to the West. Meanwhile, America was still gearing up for war…"

I just bought a copy of Naval Thunder and am torn between Topside Down markers and some 1:2400 3D printed miniatures from Etsy. Has anybody used the Etsy minis and if so how is their quality? I'm looking to be cost effective but in all honesty I think the smaller scale of the Etsy minis might look a little better on my table. That being said, the Topside markers look very nice even if they're a bit larger. Any info would be appreciated.

It wouldn't surprise me.

Haven't seen any Etsy minis.

I think I can do at least a portion of this, e.g. the air battles, though that little F-16/F-18 cross-mutation they've produced in Taiwan is a bit challenging in 1/600th scale.

I have no doubt that if the Chinese truly want to take Taiwan they can do it, but it will be a very bloody affair. They've got a huge fishing fleet which can be used to land tens of thousands of troops, and no one will be able to stop that.

Better for Xi to try to work things out I suppose, diplomatically, since at some point, if their economies become so dependent upon one another, it will be inevitable.

I love the Topside markers. I've owned them since they first came out and have held up great. A positive with them is storage. Plus, quick to get up and gaming with them.

Haven't used Etsy miniatures.

Ah, the F-CK-1 Ching-kuo fighter. Nice looking little bird, if a bit underpowered.

They also have quite a few Mirage 2000-5's purchased from France before the US lifted its arms embargo due to Chinese pressure.

I'm not seeing Topside anywhere. Can someone link them?
