Your work sets a high standard in 1/72. Well even more, a high standard for painting in any scale—plastic or metal. |

Been playing D&D for 40 years. Seen a lot of varied weaponry in many a figure, across that time period. This is the first time I've seen Staff Slings. I had to look them up in my D&D books, to see what their ROF and Ranges were. They fire, per Gygax, at the same rate as a Bow! That makes them interesting as a weapon for my mass battles games of 2e BattleSystem! Only problem is, Gygax only gave them Medium, and Long Range categories, meaning they have a high arc of fire, so they can't be used for Short Range attacks. Still, they have possibilities: Staff Slingers behind Infantry, firing over the Infantry's heads, at oncoming enemies… Dang! I thought I was done buying Human army figures and units. Thanks, Pauls Bods. :-( Grrr!… Thanks for sharing (maybe). By the way, beautiful paint work. Really nice figures, too. Very tempting… Cheers! ;-) |

Thanks :-) @Sgt. I made staff slingers a long while back but I never thought of using them for fantasy types..good idea. fustibale (staff slings) have a high arc..making them good for rear rankers or "bombing" an enemy behind walls. I also like the idea of them as "grenade launchers". link This vid shows a quite big stone being launched a long way YouTube link Also, the staff could be used as a weapon on close quarters fighting |
