I had some free time today so I took another model off the pile and threw it together. The Zvezda model of the San Martin galleon is simply superb. It was a fun build and will be a welcome addition to my wargaming fleet. link

That's a nice looking model!

A ship like that could sail from Acapulco to Manila and back! Alternatively, it would have no trouble dispatching any scurvy dogs who dared approach him in the Caribbean. Beautiful work!

Anton,

Thanks for the reports on your builds of these amazing kits. you must have gotten a good deal on the whole lot. I checked on-line prices and they rum from $12 USD and up depending on the ship model.

Looking forward to see your whole fleet.

Nicely done!

ColCampbell, you are right I got these at a reasonable discount. But, to view it from another angle, what would the price of similarly scaled resin or metal figures cost? (at least that is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!!)

Oh, I know. I'm glad that you were able to get all of them at a price you could pay. They will be a sight to see when you get them all completed.

Do you plan on having any sea battles with them?

Looks great!

ColCampbell, Oh absolutely. They form the naval component of my ongoing 30 Years War themed campaign epicureanwars.blogspot.com

I have fought a couple of actions using the ancient Valiant range already, but the models have suffered over the past four decades and I can't find replacements so I decided to make the leap to 1/350th scale and use these
