I have again run out of the very nice 28mm flattened wire spears, and cannot remember who produces and sells them. I'm talking about the ones which are copper colored and have a lovely, flattened, leaf-shaped, well pointed spearhead. These have a nice thin shaft.

Please help me with a memory trigger !

Thanks in advance,

Chick

Thanks! I used my last North Star spear this morning and need more. Finding a book I was looking for for a friend at a good price was bonus.

Thanks, again.

Unfortunately, Nic at North Star informs me he cannot get the flattened wire spears anymore.

The thin copper-colored spears (silver colored where smashed) are the ones I really want to rediscover.

Thanks for the pointers so far ! Please continue !

I've been hearing about how the spears are no longer available for years now, yet convention dealers always seem to have some.

Try Brigade Games. Their website says "limited inventory" not sold out. Ebay has lots, tho all from overseas.

You can.

Just get a little hammer, or use a regular one, with a mini-anvil, and some brass rod, and you are "In like Flint".

Use a Dremel with cutoff wheel to cut the wire pieces to size. Flatten tips with hammer, debur and grind tips to desired shape with Dremel when done.

Pretty simple to do, and I suspect, a lot less expensive than buying them too.

I just cut and point mine with mini side cutter pliers, don't need a Dremel for that. Not that there aren't lots of reasons to get a Dremel. It is a good idea to get a small fine file or sharpening stone to dull the actual point and edges, lest you stab yourself from time to time.

Recreational Conflict is currently sold out of the Northstar spears but have similar wire spears from Arcane Scenery in stock.

Xyston makes some.

50mm wire spears with leaf shaped points – code ANC20065 – cost is £10.00 GBP for 50 spears.

Got mine from Warlord Games. 5O spears £5.00 GBP

Donnington (Ancient and Modern minis) also do a range of wire spears and lances at £2.75 GBP for 20, not as chunky as the Warlord ones (better for 15mm figures). Preferred the ones Black Hat used to do but Mike no longer lists them sadly
