Must Contain Minis26 Apr 2020 2:45 p.m. PST

This weekend I released my Canadian Miniatures Gaming Companies web-page. Link

This giant page brings together all of the Canadian Miniatures companies of which I know to a single spot. A great resource for anyone that wants to support Canadian businesses.

I also write a separate article linking to this new page about my motivation to create this new community resource. Check that out too for an interesting read.

Given that there are a lot of companies that create products, I had to set up some house rules on how to get on this list. If a company reaches the criteria and is not on the list, please let me know by Facebook link or email mustcontainminis@gmail.com.

House Rules to get on the Canadian Miniatures Gaming Company Web Page…

Must Contain Minis is a one-person site. On top of that, I keep busy with my professional career and writing for Bell of Lost Souls.

The goal of this page is to become the best resource for finding Canadian Miniatures Gaming Companies. I will be keeping this page up-to-date by checking links and adding to it as I learn of new companies. To keep things manageable, I am implementing the following rules.

Rules to make it on list…
- Your business must reside or be headquartered in Canada.
- You must have an online store.
- You must sell miniatures related products that you make or design in Canada.
- The products must be mass produced.

Excluded from the list…
- Commission Painters (unless you manufacture products too).
- Custom Terrain Producers (unless you reliably mass-produce the products).
- Re-sellers and Retailers (unless you manufacture or sell products of your own).
- Etsy, Ebay, Kijiji and related Shops.
- Facebook Market Place.
- Kickstarter only companies.

Exceptions…
- Writers with a significant amount of miniature gaming content on either DriveThruRPG or the WargameVault.

I apologize for the small businesses that do not make the list. I need to set in place these rules so I don't get overwhelmed. Like many of the businesses out there, I am a one-man-shop doing this in my spare time for fun. My aim is to help the gaming community.

Thanks for putting this together, MCM. I will bookmark your page. Some familiar faces there plus some new to me!

Army Group North Miniatures ( agnminiatures.com ) is on hiatus at the moment but with plans to reopen "in the spring" – no doubt those plans thrown into disarray ; ) – but worth adding to your list when they are up and running again.

Why is your site advertising Amazon? Edit: Ahh, I see the disclaimer at the bottom of your page. It seemed odd seeing the ad after reading the restrictions you impose on the list, is all.

And if you are not going to include the little guys then I think you need to change the description where it says "On this page, I will gather all of the Canadian businesses that I know of that specialize in miniatures."

I had little idea that there were so many Canadian miniature companies. A great idea and thanks for taking the initiative.

Hi Altfritz. Must Contain Minis is a hosted site. The ads from Amazon and Google are there to help off-set the costs of running the site. Without them I wouldn't have the resources to put into building or hosting this new resource page for Canadian businesses.

IronDuke596. Thank you!

We have a lot of talent in this country! A few people have been in touch since I posted this page with some companies that I missed.

I have reached out to those companies and am awaiting responses. As such, this list is going to grow even more!

Yes, my spring plans were screwed up by the WuFlu and family issues continuing so I'll see about AGNM in the autumn.

Thanks andygamer. Please reach out to me directly when you open AGNM again and I will get you on the list.

Wasteland Game Studio (based out of Calgary) is currently closed by COVID-19, but their webstore is still up for browsing. They make some excellent 6mm Sci-Fi terrain & accessories.
