Does anyone know what the situation is with Perry Miniatures – they seem to be one of the few online companies that has closed down completely? Hopefully nothing too serious?

I just go by their website, that they are closing as directed for at least 3 weeks (from when, I do not know).

Hello, we are indeed closed at the moment. We have a very small staff and when the lockdown came in it was safer and easier to close down as quite a few of our staff are vulnerable to the virus. However, we plan to start up again, in a controlled and safe way, in early May. So when we do start sending orders out you may have to be a little patient, as due to the way we'll need to work and of course your local postal situations, it'll probably be a bit slower.

Be safe, we can wait.

Take your time. I have almost caught up with painting the figures I already have.

ConnaughtRanger26 Apr 2020 7:15 a.m. PST

Thank you for the update.

Well at least they are being honest and up front about this. (Unlike some dealers where patience is definitely needed)

Does seem a missed opportunity though. Online sales could boom, when so many are stuck at home. Posting professionally does not have to mean queuing at a post office counter these days with modern technology.

Must agree with others that the net result is some progress in the lead mountain, stuff that would never have been tackled!

When are your' afghan figures projected to come out ? :)

Perry Miniatures27 Apr 2020 7:24 a.m. PST

The Austrian cavalry will be out before the Afghan plastics. The Afghans are in tooling, which is still carrying on at Renedra during the lockdown, but no release date yet. As you know we never give any plastic release dates out before we get the thumbs up from Renedra. The Austrian cavalry are ready to go but we need to see if the new way of working at Perry Mins works ok before a big plastic release.

Having had the virus and even in its mild form it isn't very pleasant .So its better being safe for your workforce and you have done the right thing IMO .Lives are more important than toy soldiers . Can't wait to get my hands on your new Austrian plastic cavalry.

Perrys are back but orders may take longer .

ConnaughtRanger02 May 2020 1:18 p.m. PST

And they are processing orders with their usual efficiency!

mysteron Supporting Member of TMP09 May 2020 9:28 a.m. PST

I think they are more efficient than normal .My Uhlans for my Austrian Army were received within 3 days. They put other suppliers to shame .For example my paints arrived 2 weeks later and they use Royal Mail like the Perrys. Well done the Perrys .

Lord Hill24 May 2020 3:01 p.m. PST

Hmm, any delay is worrying – a quick scan of my workbench reveals I only have 256 years worth of painting to do. What if I run out of figs to paint and base?
