"Waterloo is one of the most decisive battles in the history of Europe. Wellington's victory over Napoleon permanently erased the first French empire and returned the throne of France to Louis XVIII. On the day of June 18, 1815 it is certain that Spaniards participated forming between the troops of both sides, but only two names have come down to us: Miguel Ricardo de Álava y Esquível and Captain Nicolás de Miniussir. The first with Wellington as a Spanish attaché, and Miniussir in the Allied General Staff. At the end of the battle, Álava sent an dispatch to the Spanish government giving news of the victory and highlighting the value of Miniussir…"
