It took almost a year to get to 11, so it will be 3 more years before the Platoon is done.

They look great, but please include at least one figure with an M-79. My dad used an M-79 in Vietnam, so I have always had an affinity for minis with M-79s.

Some very clever basework there. They really do look like they are keeping under cover, where possible. The fallen log works particularly well.

thumbs up

Thanks.

Don't worry Kevin, there will be 3 of those, one for each section.

They look great! Just wish the pics had been larger so I could better see with these old fading eyes. Your basing is wonderful. Looking forward to seeing the platoon when you finish.

I see why it takes so long, growing that bonsai grass is really tricky. 😂

Thanks for the larger pic, Gunfreak! :-)
Wow, those are beautiful! Great "animation"
and nice thick bush on the bases. agree with
deadhead, the fallen log is a nice touch,
same with the basing for the kneeling and prone figures.

I do hope folk follow the link from 23.04.20 (or 04.23.20 across the Pond) to see that background you used.

Now you have shown us bigger pics, you simply have to show my favourite Paul Hicks figure of all time (OK maybe the Saxon Garde du Corps, for Black Hussar, drawing his sabre is even better but…). I mean the assistant next to the M60 lifting the ammo belt off his shoulder while lying prone. I have that figure on the Dang Ba Tower and still cannot work out how PH did that both casting and moulding-wise

I won't show any larger versions, my painting doesn't hold up any closer scrutiny.
