My little force within an army (Kingdom of Jerusalem within my Crusader Army) grew this week with a second unit of Foot.

I hadn't posted the first unit on the blog so I put them together. Came out nice as well.

The figures are 28mm Fireforge and I have used Battle Flag transfers for the shields. I did have a bit of a nightmare with one of the two sets I bought. The battle scarred version of the decals especially the all blue ones kept disintegrating on me and I ended up scrapping 40 to 50 percent of them. The none battle damaged decals worked fine, both put on in the same way.

Anyone else had this problem ? I have emailed Battle Flag but had no response to date.

I'm working on some 7tv stuff this week and will be back to the Crusades soon.

Nice work! I have used the Fireforge figs for Teutonic Knights – great figs to work with

The first plastics I ever did were the FF crusader figures. You did a really good job with these. I tried to match my defenders of Jerusalem figures to the blue they used in Kingdom of Heaven.

UPDATE – Battle Flag have sent me two extra sets of decals to replace the faulty ones, top service, thank you.

What rules are you using these for?

yarkshire gamer08 May 2020 6:05 a.m. PST

Thanks for all the kind words.

Hagar, we are persevering with Deus Vult at the moment. They are a nice set of rules but the melee system as it is just doesn't seem to work. We have had one game with simultaneous melee and it seemed to work better but still needs exploring which is not possible at the moment.

We like big games so a lot of systems break when they get above the size of a normal competition game which rules out many sets.

Thanks for the reply Ken. Great figures!

I had a look at Deus Vault but couldn't get into it. Still searching for my perfect rules. I know what you mean about rules breaking lol!

Happy gaming!
