Somehow I got quite hooked into this scenario, so I gave it a couple more goes. This link is the second refight of Montmirail, using Baccus 6mm figures and the Horse, Foot & Guns rules.

Wow, you're kidding! The Russians got robbed!!! ;) Man, that was a helluva fight, and that action on the French right, with the Russian cav defeating the charge, then countercharging to take the guns, wow, that was fantastic! I can't believe their morale collapsed at that point, I just hadn't grasped how bad they'd suffered earlier in the fight. That was a lot of fun, I'm looking forward to the last re-fight, and to more of your Napoleonic fights. On a side note, I went and ordered some, though in 10mm, not 6mm. V/R, Jack |

Thanks very much Jack I can't believe their morale collapsed at that point, I just hadn't grasped how bad they'd suffered earlier in the fight. Yes, they were losing units as quick as the French but the French get reinforced more and earlier so the Russians really have to do well early to win this one, since it is so hard for them to get the French down to their break point. I was very impressed that they almost managed it! |
