"A German and a Frenchman walk into a bar..well not exactly."

This is the first time I have tried to run a virtual game with players in different locations. With everyone stuck working from home I thought I would try this out. So I got a hold of some players to see how this was all going to workout. We used The Sword and The Flame to run this one with me as the GM and communicating with everyone via texts, Emails, and facetime calls. I try to explain it all in the blog without being too long winded. I think you will get the gist of it. I don't want to give away too much because I will be putting this one on again. I hope you enjoy this fun, confusing but very good battle we had. Last Stand Dan

Dan: the game was AWESOME, dude! Thanks for letting me be part of it. A splendid little war indeed, despite being particularly barbarous and cruel. Did you make that… "special" Kurtz figure for this game? If so, at what point did you make it? Without dropping any spoilers, was it… in the bag from the start, so to speak? Inquiring minds want to know! (especially French ones!)

Dan, thank you so much for facilitating this awesome event. This was definitely one of my most enjoyable games ever! The fog of war, the scenario, the GM execution, the banter and communications between players, the beautiful table and figures all made for an extremely fun and most memorable experience.

I too was brought back in time to the mail in campaigns of the 70's & 80's, though I didn't have to wait weeks or months for a result or request for orders. Plus this was an awesome distraction to the horrible situation unfolding for our planet. Being an essential services provider I have been working the whole time and this game really helped me connect with my friends where otherwise we could not.

Onwards to Tonkin in the 1880's and our next battle my friends….

Cheers,
