Searching for the hobby tweezers on my desk, again. Same pair, had them for years, and they never seem to turn up for two sessions in a row. Do you have that one thing that never seems to be there when you need it? Or is this just another sign that I need to develop some organizational skills?

Yes!!

My right-angle tweezers. I swear, they have a secret vacation home that they randomly jet off to for days at a time.

The magic eraser. It's gone for days so I break down and get another one from the closet. When I go to put in on/in my desk – there the other one is. Spooky.

My utility knife, the heavy steel-body Stanley knife, I have bought at least a dozen over the past few years and the only one I can ever find is the crappy import one from Harbor Freight that doesn't hold the blade steady……I'm sure there is drawer somewhere in my house chock full of those knives

I got fed up trying to find one of the 2 lots of side cutters so I bought 4 more!

I have a 'Rule of 3' – if I have one of something I can look for it for weeks without finding it, but if I have at least 3 of something I can find one in about 5 minutes.

I have special storage "bins" at my painting desk for tools and brushes so I rarely "misplace" anything.

But figures, ah that's another story.

I found your tweezers. They're right here on my table where my stippling brush is supposed to be. Hey! Have you seen a … no … I don't think I wanna know …

The other day SWMBO praised me for my ability to know where all my bits are and to be able to find the exact thing I was looking for with one search. I think she doesn't understand my tolerance level for "the exact thing" when I am converting.

Don't tell her.

I usually don't have too much trouble finding things. It's keeping them out of the way that I have trouble with.

My glasses, I only use them to see with. So if I can't find them, it probably because I can't see them, and I can't see them its because I can't find them and on and on….well you get the picture.

tools vacation occasionally. That's why I have multiples now. Though lately them seem to disappear together. Its books that really take off for me. My copy of Through the Mud and Blood and a How to Paint Miniatures (the Citadel book) have both gone on the lam. For years now.
