Osprey's super kind offer to download five free e-books has been a wonderful thing to look forward to each week. However, this week I have been unable to download any of these items. It has asked me to switch stores to match my address or given an internal error message. Does anyone have an idea what I need to do different this time? Thank you.

Getting the same problem.

Gear Pilot09 Apr 2020 7:51 a.m. PST

Me to. There's a drop down menu at the top. Of course when I tried to switch from UK to US, all I got was the spinning circle of doom. Now I can't get back into the site.

There servers seem to have been overwhelmed – at times you can get through and other times not.

This is from their Facebook page:
We would like to apologise to all customers who are still encountering issues with the website. Some of the issues are related to the extremely high numbers of customers trying to use the site but we are also aware that some of you are also seeing a ‘wrong store' error message and struggling to reset your passwords. We are investigating all of these issues as a matter of urgency and will provide an update as soon as possible.

For those of you receiving the ‘wrong store' error message: if you are accessing the UK or Rest of World site we would suggest clearing your cache and trying again, this should resolve the issue for you. For US and Canadian customers, switching to the correct store at checkout may resolve the issue. However, if it has not, please bear with us as we are actively working on a fix.

If you have raised a ticket with our customer service team please rest assured that they are working through your queries as fast as possible and will be in touch soon.

Once again, we are so sorry for this delay and any inconvenience caused.

I had that same "wrong store" issue in Week 2. It had gone away the next time I logged in.

Thank you for the help. I appreciate the Osprey team's efforts. It will work sometime I'm sure. Hope and pray everyone is well. Thanks again for the feedback.

I was able to get the Week 2 and Week 3 books today. The Week 1 offer appears to have expired.

How I did it, when I went to the Osprey site I FIRST selected the US site in the upper right corner. That brought up a different homepage that had the Blog entries right there with the links to the free books.

After that it was eezy-peezy.

Good luck,

Dave

I have yet to be able to get on to the Osprey site.

A big thank you to Osprey for their generosity.

I downloaded Frostgrave last week and look forward to playing it sometime in the future.

Solution is to use Chrome browser. I tried various things using Explorer and all failed but using Chrome it worked first time & I successfully downloaded two titles.

Skeptic09 Apr 2020 12:25 p.m. PST

I do use Chrome, but still encountered the issues.

lloydthegamer09 Apr 2020 12:53 p.m. PST

Just finished trying again. I can get items into the shopping cart but then it won't let me log into the site. The link just seems to go dead and nothing happens.

I did like PzGeneral. Switch to US, log in, pick titles and process order. Worked fine. Worked fine last week for week 2 as well. Pity I missed week 1.

15th Hussar09 Apr 2020 4:08 p.m. PST

Is there a link?

I just finished ordering 4 of the 5 from this week's offering. I used the USA site as described in PZGeneral's post and had no problems. You click on the title you want, it should take you to a larger description, you then click ebook and then the add to basket button. At that point my Firefox browser opens a new tag that shows the items in my basket. From there it is straight forward to order. You must remember to insert the code on the order page to get the discount.

mikec26009 Apr 2020 7:13 p.m. PST

Thank you all.

emckinney09 Apr 2020 7:41 p.m. PST

Yeah, I can't get past the login.

Is there any way to purchase as a guest?

Schogun09 Apr 2020 7:49 p.m. PST

I ended up registering a second account that worked for the second batch but didn't work for the third.

A fix I found online is…at least in Firefox…

1. Open a Private Window (or whatever your browser calls it)
2. Go to Osprey site
3. You should be able to change the address now
4. Go to Osprey in a regular window
5. Complete your order

This worked for the second batch but not the third. Today I did this:

1. Open a Private Window
2. Go to Osprey site
3. Switch address
4. Log in and complete the order no problem in the Private Window.

Odd thing -- when I received my email with download links, they didn't work. Maybe because I had transacted in a Private Window? However, going to Osprey and downloading there, worked.

I don't recall if I did the download in a Private Window, too. Maybe I had to in order to successfully log in.

Anyway, try a Private Window.

Andrew;

Just need to go to their home page and scroll down a short distance.

This should take you directly to this weeks free books:

Thanks Marc, appreciated!

I tried earlier today using Chrome that had worked the day before – failure. Just tried again with Explorer and it worked.

Looks like it is a random bug, possibly due to overuse.

altfritz10 Apr 2020 10:28 a.m. PST

I think it was related to traffic volume.

As long as you set up an account – user name and password – your purchases appear in your Library and will have unlimited downloads.

Meaning you can go back and download them when things quiet down. The file sizes are quite variable, the RPG book being only about 3.4 Mb, whereas some are 50 or 60 MB.

Marc33594 et al,

Thanks for helping to sort things out, books ordered (five titles out of the two weeks total).

Very Much appreciated! thumbs up

Mirosav10 Apr 2020 4:33 p.m. PST

I had no trouble ordering the week 1 books and Frostgrave.
After many attempts to checkout the books for weeks 2 and 3 I had to set up a new (second) account and it finally worked.
