I've worked out ambulances are drawn by train d'equipage while pontoons are part of artillery so train d'artillery.

What about engineers wagons and general supply wagons?

Just bought engineers wagons from Blue Moon so my engineers had material and the couple companies don't get swallowed up in a battle.

Engineers, meaning Genie, had their own complement of draughts.
Brown was a colour that stuck with them to distinguish from the increasingly used 'steel-blue' of the artillery corps.
I'd have to get a source or model out, but I'm fairly sure brown habit with blue facings with some piped red, at least early Empire.

The engineer train was organized between 1806 and 1811 as a single battalion and was modeled on the artillery train. The battalion had six war companies and one depot company.

The companies usually served separately to support the sapeur battalions as well as the engineer parks.

The uniform was the usual gris de fer (iron grey) of train troops with black facings of the engineer arm. Apparently, the trumpeters wore the same uniform distinguished by broad white braid on the lapels, cuffs, and collar and they wore a buff waistcoat.

As already said by SHaT1984 the engineers had their own organisation of drivers. The basic dress of the Train du Genie was the same as that of the Train d'Artillerie but faced black instead of dark blue.

Here's some useful illustrations.

Note that the pontonneers were part of the artillery and thus pontoon wagons were driven by the Train d'Artillerie.

Ok I should check before I speech… ;-(

Got part right… what 'I' did was paint my own single genie 'conducteurs' caisson in liver brown reminiscent of earlier Rev. period 'charriers'. Apologies for confusion (another photo needed).
Still- thats the 'regulated' uniform @ 1806ish, I must have some reason for doing what I did.

Thanks all. Another set of uniforms to paint then.

@SHaT1984 – this is may be where you picked up your brown idea – train d'equipages

You are exactly correct mon cher ami,
I should consult sources before placing boot in mouth!
Even my 'garde' train I have just given a red plume and added red trefoils to shoulders- fancy dress reserved for the gunners!
