I was wondering if there is a US company that sells the PSC game pieces? I noticed PSC for ten pounds sterling sells a grab bag of 100 planes from their Battle of Britain game but the postage to the US is about the same as the item. Hopefully a US company sells them also. Thanks in advance for the info and help.

I bought the bag from PSC. Great deal even with the postage. However…
They are the soft plastic and there are some that are warped. I tried the boiling water trick and it work on a lot of them, but a few returned to their warped shape. Mainly wing tips curled up and fuselages bent. Probably 60 were fine, and 15 or so repaired.
A much better deal are the same planes in hard plastic. Good detail, easy to paint and still a bargain. These are the individual packs.

Interesting. That's not what the website says – it says they are the new non bendy plastic type.

@ Vintage Wargaming:

There are two different products on the website, the current, non bendy models and the grab bag that features the original models.

This is the one I am referring to

Great deal. Any idea where some bases can be found?

Vintage Wargaming08 Apr 2020 7:15 a.m. PST

They do flight stands separately in packs of three

Aha, they´ve changed things up a bit. That´s a great deal then, and without the toiling over hot water. :)

I've ordered a bag too, interestingly It does state the grab bags are the new non bendy planes quite clearly – we shall see!

d88mm1940, can I ask what type of planes did you get in the grab bag? In my game I received Spitfires, Hurricanes, ME 109, ME 110, HE 111 & DO 17s. Any new types?

There are -or should be Blenheims, gladiators, defiants, Ju 88's and stukas in the bag as well.

My question about flight stands isn't about the BoB game ones, I mean flight stands in general to use the minis for other systems….

green beanie09 Apr 2020 9:49 p.m. PST

well, I put in an order also.

green beanie: Tin hat is correct. And the Gladiators look great. No assembly on any aircraft!
On some of the hard plastic aircraft, there are national recognition symbols that are raised. Makes it easier to paint the roundels or crosses but harder to put decals. I usually paint mine as decals are too fiddly for my old fingers and one eye.)
Regards the soft plastic ones, Blenheims came out the best and Stukas the worse. Airplanes with thin wings were particularly warped and generally defied the heat treatment.

I followed Vintage Wargaming's link and these do appear to be the hard plastic ones! If so, this is an awesome deal!
I did not see any bent shapes.
I like the plastic AC as they don't tend to tip the stand over as much as their heavier cousins do.
My soft pack was a lot cheaper, maybe in the 3 or 4 pounds range.

Well my pack arrived today and I've just been looking through them. First impressions were good, that's a nice big bag full of planes! After I'd emptied them out and gone through them a bit more thoroughly I was even more impressed.

Yes they are of hard plastic.

The shape of each aircraft was very good, Spitfires looked good, the 109's all looked like they should no weird proportions -even if the stuka is of a later version not the BoB one, but at this scale it's difficult to tell and this is just being picky.

Nothing in my bag seemed to be bent or warped and the moulding detail is crisp. The only thing I need to do is file away some little injection nibs where they left the sprue.

Definitely worth the money, If you are even thinking about gaming the BoB then get them while they're so good value because in metal this lot would cost a fortune.
