Makes you realise just how high a profile such A/T A/A guns presented. They seemed not to suffer unduly despite that however!

Dumb question…what is it? Immediate reaction was an 88 Flak 36. Odd shield and barrel looks more "complicated". is it a 37 or am I way off?

Your first reaction is correct.

Actually, having second thoughts myself! That does look a little different.

Doesn't it?

The Flak 88/36 I always imagine with a flat faced shield and again a much simpler barrel shape.

Judging by the outriggers, It looks like this kit.

Oh well done indeed.

Not just the type but the model itself. Much appreciated.

An 88/37 after all…fairly rare I think?

Glad to have helped. Not my historical period of interest though I´ve built a couple of 1/72nd 88´s and one in 1/35(32) way back.
It took a while to find it. I tried loads of searches but then noticed the outriggers looked odd. Not the normal ones I´ve seen on 88´s or like the ones on the models I´d built.
I tried Flak 88 outriggers, nothing definate, then put Flak 88 Behelfslafette into google pic search and one pic showed this;

So far the only pic I can find of a real 88 (no shield attached but it could be laying in among the wreckage in front of the gun) ) showing the outriggers similar to the one in the dio

If one scrolls down it shows a close up of the Lafette but I won´t direct link the pic here as it shows a deceased soldier as well

That Russian modeller is a genius in my opinion, his work is excellent.
