What do I seek? The Grail. No, not really. What I am looking for is a tad specific, and in searching various companies yesterday, not quite finding what I seek, so I will ask here. Figures – Either 15/18mm or 25/28mm individually sold dismounted knights of various "nationalities" (but one HAS to be German in flavor – the flat helm I believe), carrying sword, mace, or morningstar (no lance/pike). I see FireForge, but they sell Teutonic knights as a combo of mounted and dismounted and they are friggin' expensive. Mirliton has some nice German knights, but there other nationalities really do not seem to have dismounted knights that blend period-wise. Think Ral Partha's 1200 AD line (which I looked at but they are now charging $4.00 USD for one 25mm figure designed back in the day). Figures 2 – Opposition to above, individually sold. Could be set in the Middle-East/North Africa as I have 15mm terrain for this already, or Europe proper (which then opens terrain back up to 28mm…prefer pre-painted). The idea? To take Desperado Wild West rules back to the 1200-1300s (or thereabouts). Or if there are rules that handle each player controlling one or two figures each, or a very small retinue, that would work as well…but simple to teach and run large games with. Metal figures preferred, but plastic or resin could be an option. |

Fireforge Teutonics are not sold in combo. On E-bay right now, Teutonic foot, 24 figs for $32 USD with free shipping. |

Thank you, but the most of their individual knights are sold in a combo of mounted and dismounted. Looking for dismounted. Looking for single figures. |

Check out Essex for individual 25s. |

link Contact Foundry. They are shipping and have some lovely miniatures that might meet your needs. Interesting rule set idea. Let us know how you get on. |

There are quite a few 28mm manufacturers to have a look at… link As far as a 'Germanic' look goes? German-style armour only really becomes a thing with the full-plate harnesses of the 15th Century. Quite a bit after the period you are interested in. I would think the best way to 'Germanise' your bloke is the heraldry and paint job. |

1st Corps sells individual mounted knights, but not individual dismounted figures. link |

My best suggestion honestly is Ebay/Bartertown/Facebook. Ask around and see who has single figures left over. I can't think of a manufacturer who sells single figures any more, though several might do so as a special request? |

Only Fireforge resin figures are sold mounted/dismounted. These are generally character figs, like Grand Masters. The plastic figs are sold as foot boxes (24 figs) or mounted boxes (12 figs). |

Right, and in the OP I menti0ned I am looking for individual figures, hence the reason FireForge will not work. :( Ah, Germanic stuff. The 1200 AD stuff from Ral had a figure called German Knight. That is the image I conjure in my mind. So really barrel helm, 1200-1300 figures would work. Thanks for helping me get that through my skull! The Foundry figs are in sets…but I could buy a set and give any extras to my buds to convince them to paint up a figure or two. :) Essex…good call, Joe…didn't even to think about them. :) Cerdic…good list, thank you for sharing! Thanks all, this is leading me towards Foundry or Essex. Now, terrain in 25/28mm? |

OK these don't meet the single figure requirement but you'll need a few if you build both sides. Steel Fist Miniatures link |
