I see that several squadrons of Valiants were deployed and sent into action against the Egyptians during the Suez Crisis.

Apparently, there were 8 bombers to a squadron, and it seems they usually sortied in groups of 6, or sometimes 3 (once 5, IIRC) vs. various targets.

Given that, does anyone know if they flew and attacked in vics of three vs. their targets, or if they flew singly or in pairs?

Presumably, I imagine they would have attacked the airfields at night in order to avoid enemy fighters, AND to gain surprise, but don't know for sure. I've looked up the conflict and there are few details available on-line about stuff like that, so any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I do know there was no Egyptian fighter response during these attacks, so they were caught flat-footed.
