Interesting. The Krupp gun is indeed WW 1 rather than from the Boer War. |

It's all very familiar-looking; but then, I live in the other SA… the one where Breaker Morant was filmed. Recently I was on the commuter train heading home in a southerly direction, and there was an American with his family a couple of seats away. As we passed over the longest rail bridge in the southern hemisphere through the local recreation park where I take my morning walks he looked out the window and excitedly exclaimed 'savannah!' My impression, if I might use a Fawlty Towersism, is that he was expecting any moment to see 'herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain'; a mob of kangaroos reclining lazily in the grass, perhaps, but wildebeest… For a moment I thought to correct his misapprehension, but then decided it would be better to leave him to his colourful imaginings. |

So, for wargaming purposes, lots of brown with splotches of green rather than vice versa. |
