My "Google-Fu" is failing me. Earnestly need some help. I was certain I read about a week ago an "older" thread where-in the the A&A (Armorum & Aquila) and Aventine Parthians & Sassanids were compared? Also, IIRC, the sculptor (Adam?) even weighed in on the differences between the "older" A&A figures vs. his "newer" efforts at Aventine? Can someone please post the link back to that older thread? I would REALLY appreciate it! |

Don't know about Aventine but a few ranges of A&A match with Crusader. Their celts do and so do some at least of their Carthaginians. link |

A&A I believe were sculpted by Mark Sims which is why they are so compatible with Crusader. Love Aventine figures but based on comparisons with Punic Romans that are certainly larger in size than Crusader and A&A. |

A&A I believe were sculpted by Mark Sims which is why they are so compatible with Crusader. Certainly some of the A&A ranges were sculpted by Adam Smith, the Middle Imperials, for example, and also, I believe, the Parthians and Sassanids, so I think you will find that the Aventines are broadly compatible with A&A. |

I picked up some A&A Thracians a few years back to go with my Crusader Thracians and they were compatible but definitely in a bit different style. I have longed to do a Sassanid army and lusted for the A&A Parthians and Sassanids for years. They look distinctly Mark Sims in style to my eyes so I am presuming that would make them a bit smaller than Aventine. It would great if companies would list the sculptor with the range. That would help some. |

link Come in knighthawk…I mixed them both in together no issue. I don't think I did any comparison pics perhaps should of but found them match well enough I chose not too. Pictures at the link |
