More "Spring Clean Up / Move Prep" Spending some isolation time cleaning up my armies. Making sure that (a) everything is in the correct box (just found some German infiltrators in the U.S. box) and (b) that all the stands are magnetized in preparation for a likely move this fall. Started with my WW2/Flames of War as I've bought several used armies the past few years. Here we have Early War French, and several boxes of my U.S. Forces. I also use these for Fistful of TOWs, Crossfire, etc. Pictures for the curious: flic.kr/s/aHsmM5MPGG |

Long move, or local? I've been magnetizing my stuff for years, it really helps protect stuff from the dangers of travel (cross-country or cross-town). |

My wife – the breadwinner – is looking for a new job. Odds are high we relocate. So I'm getting ready. Nothing definite yet. DC, New York and Bentonville AR are in the mix now, but who knows? |

I do just the opposite. I buy 1 foot square 16 gauge galvanized sheets at Home Depot and glue them to the bottom of a box using E6000. Then I use either LITKO's precut magnets sized to fit the bottom of the stands or I cut them myself using DIY magnetic business cards from Staples. Your way works as does mine. |

Horses for courses. Normally I get a location veto as she hears about jobs. But IMO the coming recession will be a doozy, aid bill or no. So I have lifted my veto. Bentonville is a very small town and we are big city folk. And I can't stand heat – you can always add alayer for cold. But eventually for heat you get arrested for indecent exposure! But it is the last corporate job before retirement, so I figure I can do small and hot for 4 or 5 years…. |
