In light of the new stay-at-home order issued by the UK, is it safe to assume that our toy soldier manufacturers will not be filling orders and mailing them to the states?

Depends. Many of them actually cast at home/on premises. And the mails are still operating both there and here.

But yes, if you order from the U.K. expect delays.

Same applies to the U.S. Many companies contract out casting and many casters are shut down, at least temporarily.

I am in lock down here at ScaleCreep.com but I am still able to mail packages, without jeopardizing anyone's health, including my own.

Pendraken appear to be working pretty much as normal.

That may change.

Fife and Drum/Minden Miniatures are operating business as usual with ample stocks of figures. We won't have to place any restock orders with our caster for quite awhile.

The US Postal Service will remain open during the pandemic quarantine period so we can ship orders the next day. Orders from the U.K. Have been mailed within the past few days. Typical delivery time is 5-10 business days, but the actual delivery time is usually closer to the lower number.

Post delays everywhere.. some airlines don't fly anymore and Post must to find out new ways to send parcels.

Most of the smaller UK companies are one or two man bands so are still operating as normal. You are allowed to go to work if you cannot work at home (and can operate with staff 2 metres apart) but a lot of people, like me, work and cast from home as Mark said.

I think that Warlord have had to close beacuse they have a lot of staff in a small space and cannot operate with staff separated safely.

Pendraken are planning on splitting their staff across two shifts.

Things will slow down slightly for me as I am unlikely to post orders each day unless I can combine it with daily exercise or a weekly trip to the supermarket.

My wife used her cycle trip to drop post in the postbox this afternoon…

Castaway Arts is operating business as usual. I am casting on site and have enough metal to continue filling orders. Our Post office service remains open, carefully observing social distancing.

As several others have said in this thread, if unsure about postal services at your end please do email us before ordering;

As long as Spanish and/or Catalan authorities keep considering Mail service as an essential one, I'm going to try and keep filling orders. On my side there's no problem because of already working at home.

Admittedly, situation can change drastically from one day to another, depending on the new measures authorities need to implement.

Also, there is a serious risk of running out of raw materials, packaging stuff or who-knows-what-else while current government restrictions are in force.

So summarily I don't know how longer I'll be able to still take orders, but I'll do my best for.

I thought some of the more cottage industry places would still cast, while operations like Warlord and Foundry would shut down. Thanks for the feedback.

OSHIRO are still accepting orders and sending them out although I'm limiting post offices trips to once per week.

Postage discounts will apply till at least the end of April.

Frontline Wargaming is still producing.I'm doing the same as Oshiro and limiting trips to the post office to once a week. As its located in a co-op branch, I can kill two birds with one stone. Keep well and 2 meters apart.

Fighting 15s25 Mar 2020 7:43 a.m. PST

Fighting 15s and Gladiator Miniatures are still taking orders, casting and dispatching. Both Janet and I work from home. Parcels are being dispatched while on essential trips for food shopping by dropping them in a wide-mouthed posting box at a very quiet time of day. I aim to avoid using the post office, so have switched to buying postage online.

I am also working through a large order for Extra Crispy, slightly hampered by the fact that the storms earlier this year blew off my casting room roof and have put me behind on casting while I have moved stuff around. Being stuck in will no doubt help immensely in getting this order out the door shortly.

So, while I'm well and the postal service is still running, everything is still happening comparatively normally. Until I have to start pricing figures in terms of number of toilet rolls…

Interesting.

My local Post Office is open and I'm still plugging away with orders. Happily I can combine dispatch with my daily constitutional/food shopping trip. Some bases are running low but I have a good stock of most things.

Stay Safe!

There are rumblings that the Posties aren't happy and might down tools as they haven't got any PPE .
