…Laser Attacks On U.S. Warships Transiting The South China Sea "China has called for using electromagnetic attacks on U.S. warships transiting the South China Sea, according to a state-run Chinese outlet. The Communist Party-affiliated organ Global Times, quoting a military expert, said the use of nonlethal electromagnetic and laser weapons should be used by the People's Liberation Army to expel American warships from the disputed sea. Hmmmmm, those could be considered acts of war, and they might get more of a response than they bargained for. Most likely not, but asymmetrical, kinetic strikes could happen, especially to anyone controlling the lasers, and/or EMP emitters. This will only escalate if it is not dealt with harshly, and soon. |

I think there will be tit for tat (just not announced publicly…) But more likely intel will be gathered on the systems and countermeasures developed (making them obsolete… ;-) |
