I'm afraid to ask what the BM stands for!

It is the name of the improved 85mm gun the D5S-85BM. The BM stands for bol`shaya moshnost which translates as "big power" or more correctly "high power". I am sure one of our Russian members can correct my errors.

My understanding is this gun variant was never accepted for general service?
