Apparently are being released tomorrow. Not thrilled with the premise of having to buy the rules, Redcoats and Tomahawks supplement and cards separately. Also not keen on ordering from the UK and shipping across the pond. Anyone know if there is a U.S. distributor?

Pre-ordered mine from On Military Matters" here in the USA

So, they are doing to you M&T-ers what they did to us SAGA players too? Bunch of greedy BUMS!

Steamingdave210 Mar 2020 9:19 a.m. PST

@skipperjohn
Tend to agree with your sentiments. What makes it worse for SAGA players is lots of the books for the revised rules are now out of stock/ out of print.

I think you can order from Brigade Games. The Saga books too.

Had a quick look at my copy. Apart from being hardback and having more eye candy, not a lot has changed. Melee seems better; was D10 necessary? Like Hollywood, the sequel disappoints.

Steamingdave210 Mar 2020 1:44 p.m. PST

@marco65 – I am in UK and Gripping Beast are main suppliers of SAGA. Been looking for Arthur and Aetius for over a year, but still appears to be out of stock.

Wait, do people have their books now? I did the preorder on brigade games and have yet receive anything…

Pan Marek10 Mar 2020 2:37 p.m. PST

Brigade doesn't seem to stock it. On Military Matters does.
But geez, what an expense!
Rules- $39.00 USD
"Supplement" for FWI. AWI & 1812- $20.00 USD
Cards for above- $13.00 USD

Total, without shipping: $72.00 USD

I love M&T. I'll probably buy this, if only because my original book and cards are getting to be pretty worn. This falls into "nickle and dimed" territory. Much like all the extra fees one now experiences with air travel.
Its a bit insulting to their fans.

@Sancho Panzer – I would look again if I were you – some major changes.

Not least you now each draw a hand of 3 cards and play them in the order you want taking turns with your opponent to activate units. The twist is that you will both get a mix of your own and your opponents cards. You still have to play the latter but gain "command points "for doing so – the points can then be converted into special abilities/actions.

Plus as you said – the game has moved to 10d to give more granularity.

How it plays remains to be seen.

The previous D6 mechanics were cumbersome – in having to add the computed pips over 6 to the Lethality roll instead. We forged ahead, but moving to a D10 should perhaps eliminate this requirement now.

Lucky that some have their rule books already, since Nick wrote on the LA forum – "It's going to take us a while to get all the Nickstarter orders packed up, but expect your package anytime after the 11th."

Here in the Midwest, maybe I'll see my pre-ordered package in a week or two if I'm lucky!

OMM advertises 1-1982092 Buchel, Alex MUSKETS AND TOMAHAWKS: Nickstarter Level 2: Captain … gets you one copy of the Muskets & Tomahawks rulebook, one copy of the Redcoats & Tomahawks supplement book, one Redcoats and Tomahawks card deck, and one set of Muskets and Tomahawks Tokens. NEW-box, available early March 2020 ……$85.00 with a discount of 10% inc

However, the individual price for the above is $39 USD, $20 USD, $13 USD and $13 USD, respectively, which = $85. USD So where is the 10% discount? It says its "inc"…

codiver11 Mar 2020 7:32 a.m. PST

Oh, nevermind.  I see the 10% does show up when you add it to your shopping cart.  My bad…

Here's another question: can anyone familiar with the rules, either who has received them, better yet played them, or is involved with producing and/or distributing them comment on how the rule changes in M&T2 effect multi-player play?

Well, I read and watched play with the 2nd edition on line. I understand the changes involved with the D10 and the card mechanics. However, I am not convinced the new rules are good enough to pull the trigger on for the price asked. I already have and play the 1st edition. Looking for honest feed back from those who played.

Very nice Terrain and game here…
