I just found Testors Color Shift spray paint at the local Hobby Lobby. The can says it gives an Iridescent Shimmer and I was not disappointed.

I have some alien space ships I've been meaning to paint for some time and thought I would give it a try.

The effect is well worth the effort. It comes in many shaded and I select the one with the black top. It turned out that it was actually a clear coat. So I ended up painting the ship flat black first and then did the color shift. The result were better than I expected and gives a truly alien feel to the ships.

Interesting.

Such paint was popular with some car brands several years ago & whilst as automotive paint, it didn't appeal to me, I can see how this might be nice in SF.

I know with cars, it literally changed colour when the sun went behind clouds. Do you light your gaming tables with a couple of cheap spots? It might create a fairly amazing space if you were to do so.

This comes across more like a sparkly bunch of reflective colors each the size on a pin point over the black base.

Still, I think it could be spectacular. If you get round to some photography, a posting would be welcome.

I did a large model rocket using it for my wife, as well as a smaller one for my son. Decent looking…
