which would be the most detailed and or colorful uniforms to for them to showcase their art/painting in the era from 1494-1914? Can include a non European opponent but I wanted to keep it sort of Euro-centric. |

I would think an Italian Wars Condotta force, or one of the Napoleonic armies would be good contenders. |

Here are some of my thoughts: Great Northern War Swedes Seven Years War Russians (I always liked the Green and Red combo, the red artillery with black cuffs etc, their hussars were colorful and the horse grenadiers look good too) 1870 French |

The Conquest of Mexico. If not Euro-centric enough, then anything involving the Turks. The best dressers in the period. I started in Napoleonics after painting some OG jannisaries |

Polish renaissance – if they are a great painter, just think how the winged hussars would look! |

Ohhh – tough choice Polish Winged Hussars are a great idea, but a French SYW army (they're not all white coats, people!) would be my choice

I'd quite like someone to make a really nice job of my Confederation/Italian/Polish 'French' Napoleonic army. |

Hungarian army for 1848. Infantry in white, or brown, or grey, or blue, or green; foreign legions for extra variety; kepis, shakos, czapkas, grenadier bearskins; even the guns can have red-white-green carriages; rockets; scythe-armed militia; and a priest to lead one unit into action. That's what I want for my next army, anyway! link |

Meissonier to paint the Chasseurs a Cheval of the Garde, Rembrandt to paint another Polish Rider, or Dali to do something for a Fantasy unit of his own devising, probably involving a rhinoceros or two; have I misunderstood the question? |

Landsknechts. I always wanted a Landsknecht army, but I'll never lift a finger to get one. Too much work for too little fun. If one dropped in my lap, however, I think I'd suddenly get really into Italian Wars gaming. - Ix |
