After years and years of postponements. They are finally about to expand the viking ship museum.

Norway has an enormous amount of viking treasures that belong to that museum.
But the museum doesn't have room it.
Hopefully now it will.

There is also the fact the ships are rotting, decades of neglect has shown the ships are in real danger getting destroyed.
So the upgrade will also try and fix that.

The cross shaped part is the original, and the arch will be new. As the ships are too fragile to move, the new has to be built around the ships.

Great news. I visited there a couple of years ago. The Viking ships were an amazing sight. Sad to hear they are in poor conditions.

It was a highlight of a visit to Norway – had wanted to see these vessels for as long as I could remember!

They've found at least two more ships. But they aren't sure in what condition they are in. And probably won't dig them up until we can guarantee that they can be taken care of.
