GM Peter tells me that we have 11 players signed up so far…For more info or to sign up: e-mail Peter: Gonsalvo AT aol DOT com Once again, Peter, James, Greg, and others will host SnapCon VIII at The Portal in Manchester, CT. SnapCon is a free event with free parking, courtesy of The Portal, a full-equipped hobby store with boxed games (wargame, eurogame, card game, etc), boxed sci-fi/fantasy miniatures sets, paints, dice, etc. It has a small packaged snacks and bottled drink section and we usually all kick in to buy pizza in mid afternoon. It is on Sunday, April 19, 2020, with a tentative start time of 10am for the briefing and quick rules overview (although doors open an hour earlier for set up) and an end time of 5pm, followed by a debriefing. The campaign this year is 1809 Bavaria. Peter notes 16 tables and room for 20 players … or about typical for a SnapCon (last year's was 14 tables and 20 players for the 1814 Campaign in a Day). I should also add that the rules will be taught, so beginners are welcome. If you float around TMP, you'll discover the Snappy Nappy rules are straightforward -- if you know basic wargaming, you'll pick these up in no time. Plus, we make sure that the first turn or two are synchronized across all tables. That way, the brand new gamers and returning players can get an idea of distances on the tables. After that, each table follows its own turn sequence, with players moving off one table and entering another table confirming to the new table's sequence. The Quick Reference Sheets are on Peter's blog -- use the 'Previous SnapCons' link above and scroll aboput halfway down. |

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 crisis has obligated cancellation of the April event for public health reasons. We still hope to run it at Historicon, conditions by then allowing, and plan to schedule another date in Connecticut when the situation allows, perhaps in October or the Spring of 2021. |
