I've started to build an army to represent the British Lakes Company during the Karonga War in what would latter become Malawi.

More on my Blog, for those interested, here

Jon, Djenzi scares me with his handprint war paint.

Your figs will look great on your new terrain too!

I'm going back to review some of your previous blog threads, to see if there's something I can use for inspiration and get my figs back onto the tabletop.

Thanks guys.

FlyXwire no problem I'm endlessly inspired to do new things or re-start old things thanks to stuff people post on here or the Lead Adventure Forum.

I like the blue checked wrap around. Wish I'd tried something like that, instead of always doing solids.

Grelber@ Yes I normally do some shade of cream or white on my Foundry askari type miniatures.

However Chris Peers mentions, in his Foundry book on Central Africa, that the lake Tonga favoured brightly coloured cloth. In particular checked cloth imported from India which I guess was a benefit of a close association with the British Lakes Company. So I figured I'd give at least a few of mine Tonga auxiliaries something a bit more elaborate than plain white.

Very well done but is the Union Flag upside down on purpose?

22nd foot@ No clearly not that's just me being a homer (Doh!). I'll plead a late night painting session and the excitement to get some minis finished for my poor showing on that one…sigh

It's easy enough to do. Done it plenty of times.
