Hi I'm organising some transport for my 28mm Bolo's, for a "what if" scenario involving Bolshovik support for the Afghans in the Third Afghan War.

I have a few vans and lorries I want to paint up as transport for the force. Sources tend to show lots of posters and slogans but being B/w little help with regard colour. Bearing in mind the supposed timeframe is 1919-24, what colour would these be. Would it be a case of simply commandeering whatever was available from the street in which case various colours or, was the Soviet organised enough even at this stage to stipulate one standard colour, eg Green 3B/ Green 4BO?

Probably anything they could get their hands on, lob on a red star and Bob's your uncle.

Otherwise battleship grey AIUI was used a lot, maybe some simple cams schemes – see osprey's book…can't remember which one must be Red armour or tanks/a/c one…sorry its in storage so can't reference it off hand.
