I copy righted a set of skirmish rules titled GLORY! Back in 1984. They covered individual combat by squad and platoon. It covered 1750-1913. |

Its a good job titles aren't copyrighteable. I did a set of Wild West rules called The Law Of the Gun ( link ), only to have a set called Law of the Gun commercially produced a few months later!!! Confusing, or what! |

If you want to check a possible title against what has already been published, you could do worse than check my rule book list here: link |

I've been considering writing a rules set. I figure the title should be safe without research. Its entitled… Stop Thief! |

Correct me if I'm wrong but you cannot copyright a title, let alone a single word. Is the suggestion here that never can two set of rules ever have the same name ever in the 50 years rules have been written? HMS Exeter… Whats your point exactly, please clarify. |

@jaz Perhaps it might be worth checking the FAQs re promoting products. PS. Publishing a QRS on your blog might give some of us an insight into your new rules product. |

No copyright is for a body of work, not the title. Title ownership may be in the form of patent or trademark. Some popular systems have trademarked titles over the decades. As you have seen, there have already been several rules using GLORY. As a gamer and store owner it causes massive confusion when I am making recommendations to clients. |
