This is the stretcher party from Full Metal Miniatures, a company I had never heard of until mentioned hererecently. TMP link The Stretcher party includes the Corpsman, who I think is simply brilliant. His plasma bottle needs a gloss varnish. I slapped on some that was over ten years old and found it was totally opaque…panic ensued. Mind you I coated these with industrial strength matt varnish and see the shine on them!
But, from the same company, comes the "war photographer". Catherine Leroy a tiny French woman, now gone to her reward, but a legend for her work on both sides of the lines in Hue. I think this model is simply outstanding. The helmets have been noted to "cause concern" and I did try a bit of filing and reshaping. Still not convinced. I hope the range expands as promised

Nice! The background blends in nicely. Having 'famous' people in dioramas is a nice touch. Maybe you could do Bob Hope on stage at a USO show. It would be a lot of figures (thousands would show up), but hey, it would be worth it… I noticed the corpsman's watch looked to be silver. We were trained to dull our watches. Use either a dull band (cloth or leather covered) or blacken it. Of course in the field the blackening would rub off or you just got a new band and simply didn't have time to darken it. Minor stuff. A most convincing scene. |

Thanks all. The wristwatch band. Never thought of that! Just wanted a bit of variety, but that makes perfect sense. Will fix that when I gloss the plasma bottle…which needs to be slightly pinker still. Plasma has no red cells in it, but it is a pinkish straw colour. |

From photo evidence – a green webbing material strap was most common but some watches with metallic bands can be seen. Given the glass will always reflect light and be a tactical liability a little glint from a metallic bracelet is not such a big deal. I suspect the use of cloth straps had more to do with the climate. |

Well I can now see how the silver spilt over onto his wrist anyway….so needs revision when I gloss the bottle finally and redo the plasma. |
