I received in a lot, three paperback rulebooks corresponding to the three LOTR books, as well as a hardback blue rule book. Are they all necessary? The hardback one seems to be a compilation? |

The hardback is a compilation, with small rule clarifications and updated perspectives. I personally still prefer the "crack Helm's Deep" rules from the paperbacks, but maybe that's just me. Paperbacks are good for inspirational photos, more scenarios, and reasons to go back and watch the movies again. |

Sounds like you have the three Journey books, with scenarios, terrain and painting, and I think some new profiles. All were published AFTER the hardback rules. Note those are two editions ago, if That matters to you. |

Thanks ED I'll look at them more closely before I decide what to keep and what to sell. |

The LOTR community on Facebook (Great British Hobbit League) seems to have a fair demand for those three books. |
