Only sort of fantasy since they are mostly Essex 15mm late medievals! Acquired as a bulk lot off of ebay inc a lot of elves and few dwarves – still trying to work out whether I got a good deal since despite only being undercoated they've been a pain to clean up. While they are destined to be the start of my 15mm Oldhammer project I didn't want paint them obviously as Warhammer inspired. So I decided to use illuminated manuscript miniatures as inspiration – particularly the Gruuthuse Froissart manuscript. I reckon the infantry I could probably use historically with a semi-straight face, but the cavalry are likely to end up a bit more OTT. Doing proper batch painting in blocks of 10 – probably for the first time since Napoleonic's in the 80's. Not totally happy with them but hopefully will look good on mass.
Also included in the purchase were these guys whose base markings I think say Grenadier, but I've not been able to track down a picture to confirm what they are.

I think the Knights maybe Grenadier Warlord (15mm) 1816 Mounted Knights. Mirliton now produce some of the other Warlord 15mm range, but for some reason, not this one. |
